Friday, December 5th, 2008 - The Birds of Sorrow and of Grief

This morning, the secretary opened the 5th little door of her advent-calendar, and found this behind it:

“You cannot prevent the birds of sorrow and of grief from flying over your head, but you can prevent them from building nests in your hair.”

She has been thinking about this the whole day. It seems very desirable to do as the saying says, but how?

It seems, too, that Miss Doodle is one of those persons, who naturally does what the saying suggests. So, this came to the secretary's mind, it's for Suki.

Wednesday Dec. 3rd, 2008 - Miss Doodle sightseeing with friends

Artist Mike introduced the secretary to Ms. Esmeralda and Ms. Ermintrude and the secretary told Miss Doodle about them. So Miss Doodle invited the two "Mses" to a Paris sightseeing tour and while they were heading to the Eiffeltower, the secretary took a picture!

In the morning the sheep and Miss Doodle had been to the coiffeur (that is why Esmeralda and Ermintrude may look a bit like giant poodles) and here they are, all dressed up, looking glamorous.

Monday September 29th, 2008 - working for the exhibition

Miss Doodle is very busy helping her secretary to make a list of all the pieces which will go into the exhibition in November. Watercolour paintings, textile works, acrylic paintings both on canvas and on paper , prints, all in all 61 pieces. Some are already in Germany, and some are still in Paris.

At the same time the secretary (driving her husband crazy with this last-minute-inspirational-artwork:) puts the final stitches (or almost final:) to the three textile pieces which will go into a collective exhibition here in Paris...

September 16th, 2008 - Preparing for the "FULL METAL JACKET" mode

Soon tough times will begin. From late September until February/March, Paris is on a race. With it's peak just before Christmas. The metro is overcrowded, and so are the streets and the shops and the museums, life is speed.

In view of this franctic period, Miss Doodle asked her secretary to design her a protective outfit, comfortable, capable to ward off fiercest attacks and still looking stylish....

Thursday, September 11th, 2008 - The City Cat

Miss Doodle took her cat, when she went on holiday.The cat, a pure city cat, ventured on a tree. You understand that he neverlearned how to do that.

But there he was, going higher and higher on a branch,until the branch was too slim. And too high up so that Miss Doodle couldn't touch the cat.

The cat slipped and turned and hang there like a ripe pear!

Then he fell, Miss Doodle gasped and tried to catch him and...

When it was clear that no harm was done, Miss Doodle laughed her head off......
The cat went inside, sulking, for a nap on the bed.

Miss Doodle is back, she had the most interesting experiences during her summer holidays. She had booked flying lessons, and before enrolling the course, she was a bit anxious...

At the end one can say that it was a wonderful experience...Miss Doodle spooked some birds but all in all she did really well:)

Juli 15th, 2008 - STREET STILL LIFE: The abandoned watermelon, orange and banana with pigeon

NB: The secretary used a black ink pen here, watersoluble, which gives the whole painting a touch of "rainy day"... it isn't a rainy day, but a very sunny one. And this watermelon on the sidewalk: the passers-by do not allow themselves to look at it and to ponder it, except the pigeon and two little girls, walking hand in hand, yelling: Iiiiihhh (meaning something like YIKES), although this watermelon still does look beautiful, juicy and not damaged (yet). So, what is upseeting them (and Miss Doodle) ? It must be the soaked tissue paper, waste chewing gum and aluminium foil strips etc...lying there too, the whole image is one of waste.
