Monday June 30th, 2008 - Miss Doodle's Secretary highly sceptical

Today we let you have a look into the sketchbook. This is Miss Doodle's secretary trying to sketch herself in a highly sceptical mood, together with some Doodle Soup Cans and Miss Doodle taking three hurdles (upper left corner). As the expression on the secretary's face shows, she is not happy with the selfportraits, she finds that she is not so angular, and she finds that these sketches are too flattering. Well, we don't give a dime, cause this is about drawing essentials:)

Tuesday June 17th, 2008 - Miss Doodle and Phot'Art

Miss Doodle and her secretary are very happy today and honoured to share the following with you:

You remember Miss Doodle's trip as a photographic journalist to New York?

This is a wonderful day and a great day for Miss Doodle. She has her first publication in the international trimestrial Photomagazin Phot'Art! - N)10, which is all about NEW YORK and it's artists.

The Magazine is bilingual (English/French), the paper and such the rendition of the photos are exceptional and the articles about the photographers and their art very interesting.

The cover photo is by Lynn Bianchi, inside there are more fascinating photos of this NY artist, as well as many others, you can see the summery on the page hereunder. If you have the opportunity to get this magazin (the distributors are mentioned on their website) , you will not regret it if you love inspirational and astonishing photography and great articles.

Note from the secretary: this post speaks of what has become of some of the ideas we had during the 70ies. The french context: you are supposed to buy expensive clothes and highheeled shoes, you have to like to work like a dog and care for the entire family lovingly, you must buy magazins showing you what the ideal women and her outfit should be, while those who are the LAW are gathering in their soupkitchens, brewing court-decisions against a girl who assured her future husband that she was a virgin although she wasn't, and now the marriage has been cancelled by a judge, so to speak.

The Chinese Fountain

Miss Doodle is sitting in the waiting room of a chinese massage parlor. She is waiting for the masseuse and has time to study the decoration. There is an enourmous happy golden Buddha (plastic?), a mini audio equipment and a tiny chinese fountain. It is made of ceramics, more likely of plastic too, it doesn't function and it is very kitschy. At the same time it is beautiful and soothing.

Tuesday June 3rd, 2008 - At the butcher's

Watch out, if you are not used to french markets, this is what you see at the butcher's stand:)

Sauerkraut with spareribs, Frankfurter and Strasburger sausages, rabbits with their heads on, Capons and chicken with their heads and some feathers on, Quails with no head, steaks and very bloody livers of beef, porc to roast....and a mostly beefy butcher.
