NB: The secretary used a black ink pen here, watersoluble, which gives the whole painting a touch of "rainy day"... it isn't a rainy day, but a very sunny one. And this watermelon on the sidewalk: the passers-by do not allow themselves to look at it and to ponder it, except the pigeon and two little girls, walking hand in hand, yelling: Iiiiihhh (meaning something like YIKES), although this watermelon still does look beautiful, juicy and not damaged (yet). So, what is upseeting them (and Miss Doodle) ? It must be the soaked tissue paper, waste chewing gum and aluminium foil strips etc...lying there too, the whole image is one of waste.

I love this drawing, the corner building with miss d peeking out, the curved sidewalk, the absurdity of the watermelon left there for some strange reason. What a great eye for Paris oddities you have, Miss Doodle.
We've just got back from the first time in Paris and I've totally fallen in love with the place! It's so beautiful even with the melon and gum and foil strips!x
I am with Suki, I love seeing Miss Doodle peeking out the corner building. Lots of interest in this drawing/painting.
Miss Doodle, you have an interesting way of seeing your world,,,and sharing it with us.
You also have wonderful talent for drawing. Buildings aren't easy!
(except for Miss D!)
OH! I forgot to sy that I LOVE the Doodle Soup!
(applauding, nodding, smiling)
that's like how people flick their cigarette butts wherever they want to... I see them and think what they must be thinking... the world is my ashtray!!!
I HATE LITTER!!!
Suki, oh I'm sure you'd see the same oddities, if you were here, as Miss Doodle:)
Jess:) hi, oh I'm in love with the place too:) and always looking for it's different views:) So glad that you had great fun in Paris! Thanks so much for your comment!
Cris, thank you so much for your comment, I know that you have your mind elsewhere these days with your husband having a tough time! I send you my love and good vibrations for Con!
Babs, thanks so much for popping in and for your lovely comment, and yes, buildings (and all perspective, by the way) aren't easy, I'm still practising to get them right, the only way is look and look and draw and draw and the re-begin:)
Hopper, oh, thanks for your comment, it looks as you are someone who cares for the planet! Sometimes, when you look at the amount of litter a city like Paris is producing each day, it gives you goosebumps with fear for the world's surface!
the pigeon looks so thoughtful... perhaps she's pondering on the same point you mentioned...
and wondering what these human beings are doing...
yes me think the watermelon is still beautiful... and what a pity it is wasted...
during these hot days of summer... we eat lots of watermelon to fight the heat...
beautiful painting and beautiful thoughts...
