Here are the portraits, Miss Doodle has done yesterday in the Métro.
Her secretary has accepted to colour them....:)
The young man with his smart cap (army surplus?), (his ear was interesting to draw, says Miss Doodle who finds ears challenging!)
This woman looked content, almost smiling while leaning her head against the carriage and closing her eyes. Miss Doodle loves to draw sleeping faces. She feels less intruding.

The young man with his smart cap (army surplus?), (his ear was interesting to draw, says Miss Doodle who finds ears challenging!)
A sorrowful looking lady, a gentleman who seemed to dream of his next holidays and a young handsome fellow reading a book (Miss Doodle couldn't make out the title, to her regret).
A young blond schoolgirl deeply in conversation with her friend, she moved a lot so that this is a bit of a basic sketch. This woman looked content, almost smiling while leaning her head against the carriage and closing her eyes. Miss Doodle loves to draw sleeping faces. She feels less intruding.
Now this lady and her little boy sat in front of Miss Doodle until the little guy moved away to another seat and she gracefully showed her profile, she looked like a queen. Afterwards she looked at the portrait and smiled and said: "you should have told me so, I would have posed better"! Very sweet...
The beautiful man with the fascinating turban looked absorbed by a book, too, and it was a real pleasure to portrait him, says Miss Doodle, with quick strokes. His beard was rather blond and we bet that many of those who saw him would have loved to know, what his appearance stands for...

I love the way that your work expresses and at the same time captures a moment in time... I feel like I was on that train with all of you... thanks for sharing your insights of the world...
Wow! Miss D, you did so very well. I love these so much. And how smart you are to allow your secretary to add the color...she is a master, you know.
My favorite? Well, I am partial to the woman who said she would have posed better for you, if you had of told her. You can guess, I adore the colors!
Wonderful collaboration...thank you so much for sharing here.
WOW. All wonderful. How you capture people without erasing anything. I think you captured their spirit. Mz Secretary did a fantastic job coloring these in for sure. :)
Ah Miss Doodle. I guess you came back refreshed from your stay in the castle. These are wonderful portraits of Parisians. I like the ear very much. And your verbal interpretations that go along with the drawings. All are wonderful. As Hopper said, I feel that I too have been on the metro with you. Without the noise.
HOpper, thanks, it is a way to share some minutes with perfect strangers and it makes time and the now and here more precious.
Kim thanks so much, yes, the colour blows life into the drawing:)and gives them the light and shadow they deserve..
Cris thank you so much, I think less you have time to think about what you are doing, the better the drawing gets and no need to erase then. The moment I think too much, I'd need the eraser:)
Miss Doodle flattered.
Suki, thanks to you, and I like that you like my words too.
In fact, drawing those people brought me near to them in a distant way:)
What a pleasure to discover the little details of people, it lets me forget the uncomfortable parts of the journey...
Wow, these are GOOD. I like the black woman in purple...do people ever seem offended that you sat and drew them? I like the guy in turban too. Now there are people who would feel threatened by him, although they'd be mixed up on nationalities to feel so...
the sleeping woman looks like she is having a good dream...
Fun this sort of people watching.
Lynn, it is funny that you say that about the turban man. My husband yesterday evening told me that he had been to my blogs and saw these heads, and he told me the same thing. I did think of nothing like that when sketching this man, just loved the way he looked different, and he and his clothes were so beautiful and clean and clear:) may we all keep our minds and hearts open these days. Love. Andrea
Fabuuuuuuuuuulous anthropological art collection...
Miss Doodle you are a messenger of love... by your drawings you draw people closer to each other... regdless of their origin...
that guy with turban looks like a sufi... a serene and calm face and posture...
