This reminds me of the party on the tree in the book Go Dog Go. How I loved to look at that picture when I was a child and how I would've loved looking at this one.
Miss Doodle, you make me want to learn watercolor. I went to the library yesterday and checked out several "how-to" books on watercolor and pen and ink. You make me believe I can do this. Let's try together, OK? (I really need to learn how to do something else, right?)
Wow! This is really, really fabulous! I now why it took so long to get this ready! How much fun is this! I love all the details so much! This is fantastic!
I love the surprise! I remember the "surprises" in newspaper cornette shape bags as a child. They were full of multitude of toys, candies and things.... Thank you for the memory!
That was so nice as yours was the first email and its set me up for the day. But l woke to thick snow the first this year and was not forcasted so another surprise Jill
My first thought was that this was the characters from the children's book you are illustrating! Such a joyful bag of characters, such fun they will all have once they land on the pages. I feel sure we will be seeing more of them.
Wow! What a surprise! I enlarged it and immersed in the beauty of the painting for several minutes... It made me so delightful. The colors ... so bright, the characters ... so funny and cute. Since my childhood I've loved to look at such paintings having a lot of details... Andrea, you know 'the child within' very well. My daughter says she wishes she were that girl... then she could hug that grey cat. :) Happy springtime to you! Namaste.
Thanks so much for your comments on this painting, it was fun to make it and when I did, I thought about how people would look at it, seeing the details, the moskitos and bugs, and things:) Have an enchanted day (some with snow?) Andrea
I had to come back and look at this again. It is such fun. The squirrel reminds me of the one out back this morning. He was hanging from the sunflower feeder and all of a sudden he was flying down to the ground. he slipped. looked just like your squirrel in this painting. lol He was alright tho and went right back up to eat some more. :)

How fun is THIS? I love it. You just opened the bag and sprinkled fun all over the page! Great idea. You really need to do books.
This is quite imaginative, there is magic in your illustrations. Happy Spring, Easter

Katie Jane, sure you can do this, I mean the watercolours. They are amazing, and great fun, it is good to begin with a book or take a course,
Andrea
Awesome! I so admire the patience to do a piece like this...It looks like it should be made into a poster to hang in children's rooms everywhere!
Oh, this does feel like Spring. We have a nearly 70 degree day going here. Blue sky and sunshine.
Thanks for sending your smile my way!
