Miss Doodle's Morning Rituals

This is part of Miss Doodle's morning rituals. It helps her to not cogitate. In fact, if you think of it, how many times a day do you really NEED to cogitate in order to do something ?

As we know the routine, we don't need to cogitate in order to get out of bed, brush our teeth or make coffee, we just do it. Then our mind thinks: oh cool, she/he doesn't need me here so I'll take the opportunity and fly off to cogitate about serious and important things like unsolved solutions (problems:).

That's when we start to get tense, isn't it. Cause we split in two and then it happens that we make very bad coffee or drop the pot, and at the end the solution remains unsolved.

So we have to shut up our brains in order to do those things, which do not need thinking but which need our entire focus anyway....Yoga, Tai Chi, Gym are nice tools to shut up the brain.

Oh well, just Friday thoughts, Miss Doodle loves you all.

It's one of those days......

Miss Doodle's baroque fashion show and baroque patterns
You already have seen this picture of the benedictine cloister, the first one in this travel journal, I just added three sketches of a nun's habits
This is what you see when you look up in the St. Salvator Cathedral, an impressive dome with wonderful paintings in the four corners
The Rotunda under the Church of St. Michael, looking mysterious and bathed in a very special light...

Le voyage de Miss Doodle à Fulda en Allemagne -Miss Doodle's Journey to Fulda, Germany

Have been busy finishing a Miss Doodle painting which will hopefully enter a show in a Museum in Fulda, Germany, beginning of next month. The painting was finished on Tuesday evening, at the last possible minute, and I forgot to take a picture! I hope to get one from the friendly curator who is a good friend of mine. Miss Doodle will have to appear in front of a jury TODAY and I hope she will show herself from her best side:).

The painting is a sort of "carnet de voyage", a Travel-Journal, 75 x 50cm / 30 x 20 in., many different scenes with views of interesting places in this town and little commentaries, Miss Doodle Style...

I hope that I'll be soon able to get a picture and show it to you. A big hug for everybody!
Have a great weekend!

Alors.

Thursday, December 23,2008 - Spirit

I love you when you bow in your mosque, kneel in your temple, pray in your church. For you and I are sons of one religion, and it is the spirit.

Friday, December 5th, 2008 - The Birds of Sorrow and of Grief

This morning, the secretary opened the 5th little door of her advent-calendar, and found this behind it:

“You cannot prevent the birds of sorrow and of grief from flying over your head, but you can prevent them from building nests in your hair.”

She has been thinking about this the whole day. It seems very desirable to do as the saying says, but how?

It seems, too, that Miss Doodle is one of those persons, who naturally does what the saying suggests. So, this came to the secretary's mind, it's for Suki.

Wednesday Dec. 3rd, 2008 - Miss Doodle sightseeing with friends

Artist Mike introduced the secretary to Ms. Esmeralda and Ms. Ermintrude and the secretary told Miss Doodle about them. So Miss Doodle invited the two "Mses" to a Paris sightseeing tour and while they were heading to the Eiffeltower, the secretary took a picture!

In the morning the sheep and Miss Doodle had been to the coiffeur (that is why Esmeralda and Ermintrude may look a bit like giant poodles) and here they are, all dressed up, looking glamorous.

Wednesday Oct. 22, 2008 - Miss Doodle and the Bluetoothed Dogs

Why not let our dogs have those magic electronic devices too? :) so they can do their walks alone in the future:

The communication-bubbles say - from left to right :
- Dog owner to dog: "get your ass home now and don't forget to pick up your turd"
- Dog to dog owner: "well, how about giving me the access code for the door? I have been waiting outside for almost an hour now"
- Dog to other dog:" Yeah, I've already bitten 10 today, this is gonna be one nice autumn day!"

February 21st, 2008 - Lunch with Sabrina de Bleu

Yesterday Miss Doodle met her beautiful friend Sabrina de Bleu . They had lunch in the "Bistro Parisien" not far from the Louvre, where they make nice "tarte à la tomate provençale" and all sorts of salads and the most delicious "crème caramel" you can find in Paris!

Sabrina de Bleu and Miss Doodle have a lot of things to share. Life, art, attitudes, joys and sorrows.

After lunch, a bit of window-shopping to take in the latest trends by CHANEL, and a walk to the "Pont des Arts" over the Seine river. There the two friends watched the famous "Bateaux-Mouches" and the funny little gulls before heading to the next metro station at Palais Royal where the accordeon man played beautifully Schuberts Ave Maria (the actual title is Ellens dritter Gesang) which gave them goosebumps. They agreed to meet again soon and then took off different directions.

The beautiful music accompanied them both on their way home .
